FORT WORTH – TCU women's soccer junior goalkeeper Katie Lund was named to the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Watch List. She is one of 44 athletes named to the initial watch list.
The MAC Hermann Trophy, presented by World Wide Technology, is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer and is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year. This year's winners will be announced Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
In 2017, Lund set the school-record and ranked second in the Big 12 with a 0.46 goals against average. She played the entirety of seven of TCU's eight shutouts on the year and assisted on the other.
Heading into this season, Lund is poised to climb the career charts. She ranks second all-time in career goals against average (0.90), eighth in saves (125), sixth in shutouts (10) and sixth in minutes played (3,216).
Fifteen semifinalists will be named for both the men's and women's MAC Hermann Trophy near the end of the college season based on voting by NCAA Division I coaches. From those candidates, three finalists will be placed on the ballot for the coveted award. This year's winner will be announced Friday, January 4 at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
