Texas Tech opened the scoring with a four run third inning. A sacrifice fly from Brian Klein put the Red Raiders in front 1-0. Back-to-back hits from Grant Little and Zach Rheams extended the lead to four.
Charles King (1-2) worked out of a bases loaded one-out jam in the fourth, but ultimately departed after pitching 4 2/3 innings. He allowed the four runs on 10 hits, walked two and struck out one. Caleb Sloan came on with two runners in scoring position in the fifth and struck out the final batter of the inning.
Two hits top open the sixth ultimately came around to score as Texas Tech's lead grew to 6-0.
The Frogs found themselves with another chance to get on the board in the seventh after a walk to Johnny Rizer was followed by back-to-back wild pitches. Again, the Red Raiders wiggled out of the jam with a fly ball to end the inning.
