TCU's 607 is just two strokes behind third-place Houston. As the temperature warmed up in the afternoon, the Horned Frogs reduced their second-round score by 17 strokes with a 7-over-par 295. All five TCU players lowered their score by at least two shots.
Bruner, TCU's top finisher in each of the last two tournaments, is at 5-over 147 and five shots off the pace of 142 set by Texas A&M's Maddie Szeryk and Ariana Saenz.
Bruner's second round even-par 72 included five birdies. She had a birdie on her opening hole in addition to four birdies in a six-hole stretch on the back nine. The Conroe, Texas, native recorded par on 15 holes with her opening-round 75.
TCU's Brooke McDougald also posted a second-round 72. She had a pair of birdies and shot par on 14 holes.
Emmy Martin had two birdies en route to a second-round 75 for the Horned Frogs, while Grace Do and Annika Clark contributed 76s. Clark had back-to-back birdies on the front nine.
