
TCU Drops Game 2 At Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State rallied for the 12-7 win over No. 13 TCU with eight runs in its final three at-bats to take Game 2 of the series. Johnny Rizer hit his first career home run in the loss.
The Rundown
TCU opened up a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the third. Adam Oviedo's groundout drove in Josh Watson with the first run of the game. Johnny Rizer's two run home run in the third pushed the lead to three.
Oklahoma State's comeback started in the bottom of the third on a solo home run from Carson McCusker. A three spot in the fourth gave the Cowboys a 4-3 lead. In the inning, the first three batters reached and all three scored. A groundout tied the game and Trevor Boone's single put the Cowboys in front.
TCU answered the three spot with one of its own in the top of the six to open up a 6-4 lead. Watson drew a walk and moved to third on a Michael Landestoy double. A.J. Balta's sacrifice fly tied the game at four. A base hit from Oviedo gave the Frogs a 5-4 lead. An errant throw to second on a wild pitch allowed Oviedo to score.
The Cowboys got a run back in the bottom of the inning and four two-out runs in the seventh gave them a 9-6 lead. A two-out single from Matt Kroon tied the game. Michael Neustifter's base loaded single made it an 8-6 ballgame. A wild pitch brought home the final run of the inning. Three more two-out runs crossed the plate in the eighth to give the Cowboys a 12-6 lead.
With the bases loaded and one out in the ninth, Landestoy grounded out to account for the final score.
Nick Lodolo went six innings allowing five runs on six hits in the no-decision. He walked two and fanned nine. Cal Coughlin (1-1) took the loss after allowing a run on a hit and a walk in 2/3 of an inning.
