The Rundown
A trio of walks and two errors in the bottom of the first helped TCU open up an early 3-0 lead. A lead-off walk to Connor Wanhanen and a two-base throwing error had the Frogs in business. Luken Baker put the Frogs on top with a sacrifice fly. Two runs scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of A.J. Balta as the throw to second was wild.
On the mound, Wymer (2-2) pitched around a lead-off hit batter in the second. A single to open the fourth was erased on a caught stealing. In the sixth, Wymer once again worked around a lead-off single.
In the seventh, TCU sent eight men to the plate and scored three times. Adam Oviedo opened the inning with a base hit and moved to second on a bunt single from Conner Shepherd. A one-out walk to Wanhanen loaded the bases. Zach Humphreys cleared the bases with a double down the left field line for a 6-0 lead.
Kansas State's lone threat in the game came in the eighth after an error and a base hit opened the inning. Wymer got a double play, but a walk put runners on the corner with two outs. Augie Mihlbauer came on and recorded the final out of the inning.
In the ninth, Durbin Feltman pitched around a couple base runners. He picked up two strikeouts.
