Twelve Earn Big 12 Academic Accolades

FORT WORTH, Texas – Twelve student-athletes from the TCU equestrian squad have been named First and Second Team Academic All-Big 12 as announced Thursday.

First Team
The Frogs' own Laska Anderson, Elena Hurd, Marah Huston, Carly Lombard, Josie Mootz and Conner West were named to the Big 12's Academic First Team. Sophomore Laska Anderson was one of five student-athletes in the Big 12 who hold a 4.00 GPA. She was named to the All-Big 12 Rookie Team last year, again with a 4.0. Hurd, Lombard, and Mootz were also previously named to the All-Big 12 Rookie Team, as was Huston in 2015-16. Last year, Huston was named to the Second Team.

Second Team
Named to the second team were Elizabeth Bohn, Emelie Burgess, Julia Finn, Mady Fithian, Kassi Jones and Jayme Omand. This is Omand's third time being named to the Big 12's Second Team. This is the first time for all but Omand to be named Academic All-Big 12.
