Last Time Out
TCU played a complete game in an 86-51 rout of Missouri State at Schollmaier Arena in the WNIT Second Round on Saturday.
TCU made 14 3-pointers and also played stellar defense, holding Missouri State to 25 percent shooting, on its way to a 35-point win, the largest margin of victory in a postseason game in program history.
Toree Thompson led the Frogs with 15 points off the bench, including four of TCU's 14 treys. The 14 3-pointers rank as the fifth most in program history and the most in a postseason game. Amber Ramirez added three from deep as part of her 14 points, also off the bench as TCU's bench outscored MSU's, 51-14.
TCU in the WNIT
The Frogs are now 7-5 all-time in the WNIT and have advanced to the third round for the third time, also doing so in 2008 and 2016. TCU played in the tournament's quarterfinals in 2008, marking the furthest it has advanced in program history.
TCU has never won three games in one WNIT. The Frogs needed just two wins to advance to the quarterfinals in a 48-team tournament in 2008.
The Frogs are 1-4 on the road all-time in the WNIT with all five games being decided by eight points or less.
Scouting New Mexico
New Mexico has beaten Saint Mary's, 82-80, and Rice, 93-73, in the first two rounds of the WNIT, both at home. The Lobos average over 80 points per game, the 15th best mark in the NCAA and highest remaining in the WNIT.
