
Senior Spotlights

Seniors Carley Barnett, Elizabeth Bohn, Emelie Burgess, Julia Finn, Mady Fithian, Marisa Malevitis, Jayme Omand and Conner West all put the finishing touches on their regular-season home careers at TCU against SMU. These eight student-athletes have had some very noteworthy accomplishments during their time at TCU, including two NCEA semifinal appearances and an NCEA Runner-Up finish. This group of Horned Frogs is highly decorated, with several members earning All-American and All-Big 12 accolades and numerous academic honors.
Carley Barnett (Pilot Point, Texas)
Barnett has had an accomplished career with the Horned Frogs, facing more than 80 competitors in both Flat and over Fences during her four years. This year she is a captain. She has gained multiple Big 12 and NCEA accolades including being named the Big 12 Championship MOP in Equitation on the Flat in 2016 and Equitation over Fences in 2017. Most recently she was named the Rider of the Month for the NCEA in January of this year. Last year, she won her point to clinch the win over SMU to advance at Nationals.
Elizabeth Bohn (Clayton, N.C.)
Bohn has been a valuable member of the TCU equestrian program during her four years on campus. The North Carolina native has represented the Frogs against both Big 12 opponents and NCEA foes and was an MOP at Baylor this year. As a strategic communication major, Bohn has excelled academically, being named to the NCEA's La Hacienda Academic Honor Roll for the 2015-16 season. Last year, she was in charge of horse care for the team. She is a two-time SAAC representative.
Emelie Burgess (Wethersfield, Conn.)
Burgess has had a decorated career at TCU, earning honors for her success in the classroom as a biology major, including being named to the NCEA's La Hacienda Academic Honor Roll. The Connecticut native has competed well in more than 20 meets for the Frogs. She is always cheering and supports her teammates to the fullest, and this year holds a leadership position as philanthropy chair for the team.
Julia Finn (Scottsdale, Ariz.)
Finn has been a valuable member of the TCU equestrian program. The Arizona native has excelled in the classroom as an economics major, earning a spot on the NCEA's La Hacienda Academic Honor Roll in the 2015-16 season. She is a valued asset in horse management and game day preparation for the team.
Mady Fithian (Monterey, Calif.)
Fithian has had a solid career for the Frogs in her four years, competing in over twenty meets. She's been productive in the classroom, being named to the NCEA's APHA Academic Honor Roll in the 2016-17 season. She has been a starter in both Flat and Fences this season and earned the MOP accolade for Flat in both meets this season against OSU. She is currently serving a leadership as the point person for horse care.
Marisa Malevitis (Wilmette, Ill.)
Malevitis has been a valuable member of the squad in her four years. She has brought energy and excitement with her at all times. The sports broadcasting major has competed in over ten meets for the Frogs in Equitation over Fences. She currently serves in the leadership role of spirit coordinator for the team
Jayme Omand (Sacramento, Calif.)
Omand has had a decorated career at TCU, earning multiple rider of the month honors for her success in both Fences and Flat by the Big 12 and the NCEA. At the end of the 2017 season, she was named rider of the year for Fences by the Big 12. She has also excelled in the classroom, earning herself academic honors as a rookie and again in her sophomore and junior seasons from both the NCEA and the Big 12. She is a captain this year for the team.
Conner West (Aledo, Texas)
West has been a valuable member of the TCU equestrian program during her four years with the squad. The marketing major has excelled in the classroom, being named to the NCEA's Honor Roll in both the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. She is currently serving as a spirit coordinator for the team.
As well as celebrating our undergraduate seniors, graduate assistant Colby Plott was also celebrated. She will complete her Master of Arts in Environmental Science at TCU and will cross the stage in December.
Plott graduated from TCU in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a minor in English. An alumna of TCU equestrian, Plott was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree during her riding career for the Horned Frogs. She closed out her senior season in 2015-16, competing in three meets in Horsemanship, including two conference meets. Plott, who was named to the NCEA's La Hacienda Academic Honor Roll following her final year of competition, was a four-year letterman for the Frogs and saw action in 24 meets during her four-year career.
