TCU Sweeps Kansas

The Horned Frogs scored their second straight victory on Saturday.
FORT WORTH, Texas – A pair of offensive rookies combined with strong serving pushed the TCU volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-16) victory over Kansas on Saturday afternoon in front of a sold-out crowd at The Rickel inside the University Recreation Center.
The Horned Frogs (15-11, 7-8 Big 12) were in control of the match from the very start against the Jayhawks (15-10, 8-6 Big 12) as TCU used big runs at the beginning of each set to get the sweep. The Frogs totaled 41 kills and six service aces in the match and held Kansas to only 28 kills and a season-low .075 hitting clip.
Freshman élan McCall put on a performance on both sides of the ball for the second straight match as she led the team with 16 kills and 16 digs on a .429 hitting clip. Fellow rookie Katie Clark chipped in offensively with 11 kills and a .421 hitting percentage while seniors Anna Walsh and Lexi MacLean each finished with four kills. Tori Dilfer was superb from behind the service line with four aces to lead TCU and also dished out 32 assists and picked up three digs.
Stats of the Match
.075 – TCU held Kansas to its lowest hitting percentage of the season and only 28 kills in the match. The number of kills was the least amount recorded by an opponent in Big 12 play this season for TCU.

-The win also marks the 13th at home which is the second most in program history
-The Frogs get win No. 3 in the all-time series with Kansas but the Jayhawks still have the advantage at 12-3
-The victory marked the first for head coach Jill Kramer over Kansas in her career
-The win snapped a seven-match winning streak by the Jayhawks in the series with TCU and was the first win for the Frogs over Kansas since 2014
