TCU Concludes Final Day of UT Diving Invite

AUSTIN, Texas - TCU's diving team concluded competition at the Texas Diving Invitational on Friday. Connie Deighton and Owen Moncino were the only two Frogs to compete on the final day of the meet, representing TCU in the platform dive.
Making her debut in the platform dive, Deighton finished 15th with a score of 191.95. In the men's platform dive, Moncino finished 17th with a score of 197.65.
MEET RECAP
After a slow start to the meet on day one, the Frogs bounced back with a strong showing on day two. Isabella Ashdown, Deighton, Grace Newell, and Moncino all placed higher on Thursday than they did on Wednesday. Ashdown finished 16th in Thursday's one-meter dive and within 25.5 points of a spot in the finals. Deighton and Newell finished 21st and 30 respecitvely, while Moncino finished 22nd.
COACH'S THOUGHTS
"This was Connie's first platform competition ever and she such a good job," diving coach Anthony Crowder said. "She was very focused and strong. I'm looking forward to her development on platform. Overall, it was a good meet, especially with how we were able to improve on Thursday."
UP NEXT
TCU will return to action in two weeks with a double-dual meet against Texas A&M and Rice in College Station, Texas. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1.
