
TCU Men’s Golf Signs Five

The Frogs will add five next season to replace six seniors
FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU head coach Bill Montigel announced the signing of five golfers for the upcoming season on Thursday.
The Horned Frogs signed Chris Berzina, Caden Christopherson, Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira, Gustav Frimodt and Aymeric Laussot.
"Obviously, this was an important class for us since we are losing six seniors," said Montigel. "I feel like the guys we signed will be a great fit for TCU and our golf program. Everyone in this class has done a lot of special things in junior golf. I'm looking forward to them getting here in August."
Berzina is from Fort Worth and attends Trinity Valley School and is ranked 65th in the 2019 class by Junior Golf Scoreboard. He placed 15th at the Texas Junior Amateur last summer. Berzina placed second at the 2018 AJGA Insperity Invitational and fifth at the 2018 AJGA St. Francisville Area Foundation Junior.
Christopherson is a two-time all-state golfer from Chandler, Ariz. and is currently ranked 45th in the country in his class with a scoring average of -3.27. He won the 2018 Arizona Junior State Championship and the Dobson Classic. Christopherson finished third at the Arizona State Championship as a senior this season. He won district player of the year honors and was fifth at state as a junior. He also led his team, Perry High School, to region wins as a sophomore, junior and senior.
Fernandez de Oliveira is the top ranked Argentinian golfer. The Buenos Aires native finished 9th at the Toyota Junior World Championship earlier this season. De Oliveira also won the 2018 South American Junior Championship, finished 19th at the Latin America Amateur Championship and made the cut at the Open de Argentina, which is the best professional tournament in Argentina.
Frimodt is from Glamsbjerg, Denmark and currently holds a World Amateur Ranking of 141. He represented Denmark at the 2018 European Team Championship and has finished in the top 10 at several international tournaments including a runner-up finish at the 2017 Thailand Junior World Championships, a third place finish at the 2017 Toyota Junior World and a third place finish at the 2017 Belgium Junior.
Laussot is from Paris, France and holds a World Amateur Ranking of 335. He is the No. 1 under 18 player in France and has represented his country at the 2018 European Boys Championship and at the 2018 match play versus England. Laussot won the 2017 Grand Prix de Troyes, the 2016 U16 Scottish Championship and the 2015 Doral Publix Junior.
The Frogs will lose six seniors after this season with Triston Fisher, Turner MacLean, Pierre Mazier, Stefano Mazzoli, David Ravetto and Hayden Springer all in their final year of competition.
