
Volleyball Academic All-Big 12 Announced

Six Horned Frogs earned the distinction as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
FORT WORTH, Texas – Six members of the TCU volleyball team were part of the 66 student-athletes named to the 2018 Academic All-Big 12 Volleyball Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. Two of the TCU student-athletes are receiving the honor for the second consecutive season with Ashley Waggle named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team and Calli Novak on the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team. Four student-athletes earned the honor for the first time as Berklie Baker, Allye Beth Deaton, Tori Dilfer and Sarah Swanson were all named to the first team.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
TCU has only three matches remaining in the regular season as they travel for the final time to Morgantown, W. Va., to take on West Virginia on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m., CT. The Frogs will then return home for the final two matches as they host Kansas on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Kansas State on Wednesday, Nov. 21 with both matches taking place at 1 p.m., at The Rickel inside the University Recreation Center.
