TCU claims MOP honors in all four events
SPRINGTOWN, Texas – The sixth-ranked TCU equestrian team came up just short in a 9-8 loss to No. 3 Texas A&M on Friday at Turning Point Ranch. The Horned Frogs earned all four Most Outstanding Performer honors in the meet.
The Rundown
Highlighting the meet was a dominating 4-1 victory by the Horned Frogs in Reining. TCU also pushed with the Aggies in Horsemanship, 2-2. TCU won all four MOPs. For the second week in a row, Izzy Baxter won two MOP honors in both Hunter Seat events. Juniors Cydney Benes (Horsemanship) and Elena Hurd (Reining) picked up their first MOP accolades of the season.
In Equitation over Fences, Baxter tallied the lone point for TCU, winning 84-81 over Texas A&M's Hayden Stewart. Baxter's ride of 84 on Fats was the highest score in the event, earning her MOP accolades.
In Equitation on the Flat, Baxter once again picked up the lone point for the Frogs, winning by a score of 88-76 on Lina and taking home the MOP honor. The meet came down to Janelle Henningsen's ride on Ozzie, where she pushed with a score of 82.
In Reining, TCU grabbed four of the five points. Anna Adams kicked off the event with a slim 71.5-71 victory on Peppy. Elena Hurd (74.5 on Cash), Josie Ferrante (70.5 on Willy) and Carly Lombard (74 on Roxie) all grabbed points for the Purple and White, Elena Hurd earned her fourth career MOP honor.
In Horsemanship, the Frogs' best ride was the last one as Cydney Benes tallied a 76.5 on Cupid, good enough for the MOP. Natalia DeVencenty picked up the other TCU point with a 75.5-74.5 win on Jack. Texas A&M's Ashley Davidson edged Jamie Cook on Bob with a score of 76-75.5.

"I am so proud of our girls. We held our own today and I am really proud of the entire team. This was a great test against a great opponent and I loved the attitude that we showed up to ride with. Our team was strong and confident and I feel like we will be able to build off what we learned today in order to be more successful in the future."
