Baxter, Mazzoli Named Student-Athletes of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas – Equestrian's Izzy Baxter and Stefano Mazzoli from men's golf have been named TCU's Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Bob's Steak and Chop House.
In her collegiate debut, Baxter claimed two Most Outstanding Performance honors helping, TCU to victory in its NCEA opener against Delaware State last week. The Horned Frogs won all four events, defeating Delaware State,15-4. The freshman from Wright City, Missouri, picked up both Hunter Seat MOP accolades in the triumph, defeating her opponent in Equitation Over Fences, 83-71, and Equitation on the Flat, 87-79.
The Horned Frogs are back in action this Friday, October 5, as they host Texas A&M at Turning Point Ranch at 10 a.m.
Mazzoli, a senior from Montorfano, Italy, added another top-five finish to his career on Tuesday at the Nike Collegiate Invitational held at Colonial Country Club. Mazzoli, currently ranked No.12 by Golfweek, shot a 2-under 208, with rounds of 70-67-71. His tie for fifth place marks the best individual finish of any TCU player in the five-year history of the NCI tournament.
Next, the Horned Frogs will head to Hockley, Texas, where they will compete in the Big 12 Match Play Championship, Oct. 12-14.
