MacLean, a junior Fort Worth native, tied for 15th place and lead the TCU men's golf team to a fifth-place finish in their season-opener on Sunday. The Carmel Cup, located at Pebble Beach Golf Links, was ranked the second-toughest tournament last season, but MacLean was still able to remain consistent and finish 2-under in every round. He finished 6-under 210 in the tournament overall, which tied his career low for three rounds.
The team hopes to continue this success when they head to Fort Collins, Colo., for their next tournament the weekend of Sept. 18-19.
Martin led the way offensively for the TCU volleyball team this weekend at the Home2 Suite Tallahassee Seminole Invitational, averaging 3.5 kills and 4.0 points per set. The junior outside hitter from McKinney, Texas, put down double-digit kills in all three matches and reached a season-high of 15 kills against Florida State. She also recorded six digs and 7.0 blocks for the weekend.
TCU returns home to host the Fight at the Fort tournament Sept. 8-9. The Frogs take on Duke Friday at 6p.m., then Lehigh and Utah Valley on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
