
TCU Drops Match at West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - Despite taking the first set, the TCU volleyball could not continue the momentum as West Virginia took the final three sets for a 3-1 (21-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-19) victory on Wednesday night in the Big 12 opener at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, W. Va.
The Frogs (8-4, 0-1 Big 12) hit .433 in the opening set with 14 kills and only one error to go along with four blocks against the Mountaineers (12-2, 1-0 Big 12), but then struggled the rest of the match to put together an offense as TCU was held to a .169 hitting clip for the match.
Ashleigh Martin led the team for the seventh time this season in kills with 12, while Allye Beth Deaton also put down 12 kills to help lead the team for the second time this season. Anna Walsh chipped in 10 kills in the match and led the team with a season-high eight blocks. Dani Dennison led the team for the 11th time this season on defense with 14 digs with Kayla Scheevel finishing with 11 digs in the match.
