
TCU Falters In Saturday's Loss

FORT WORTH – TCU's nine game home winning streak came to an end with a 16-5 loss to Baylor on Saturday. The Bears scored a run in each of the first seven innings of the ballgame.
The Rundown
Baylor picked up a two-out run in the first inning and never looked back, scoring a run in each of the first seven innings. In four of those innings, the Bears pushed across multiple runs in building a 16-0 lead.
TCU had just three base runners on a pair of walks and a base hit through the first six innings.
The Horned Frogs broke up the shutout in the seventh inning with a four spot. Luken Baker worked a lead-off walk. Pinch runner Michael Landestoy scored from first on a base hit from Evan Skoug. With two outs, Cam Warner singled to drive in Skoug with the second run of the frame. Ryan Merrill followed with a two-run home run to right to make it a 16-4 game.
TCU pushed across another run in the ninth to account for the final score. With two outs and the bases loaded, Connor Wanhanen was hit by a pitch to drive in Nolan Brown who had worked a lead-off walk.
Mitchell Traver (2-1) took the loss for the Frogs after allowing four runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings of work.
