MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – No. 3 TCU rallied with a three-run top of the ninth to tie the game at four, but a lead-off double for West Virginia came around to score as the Horned Frogs dropped a 5-4 decision to the Mountaineers.

The Rundown
Facing a three-run deficit in the ninth, TCU put together a fierce rally to get the game tied at four. Evan Skoug opened the inning with a home run to left. Back-to-back singles from Josh Watson and Nolan Brown put the tying runs on base. Ryan Merrill made it a one-run game with a two-out single. A wild pitch allowed Brown to score the tying run.

The comeback was not to be as West Virginia capitalized on a lead-off double in the bottom of the ninth. A sac bunt moved the runner to third and he scored on a sacrifice fly to give the Mountaineers the walk-off victory.

TCU opened up a 1-0 lead in the first as it took advantage of a one-out error by the Mountaineers. Cam Warner scored on a double to right field off the bat of Luken Baker. A lead-off triple from WVU's Kyle Gray scored on a sacrifice fly to tie the game at one.

The Mountaineers took their first lead in the fourth with two runs on two hits. Once again, a triple factored into the occasion as Kyle Davis' triple gave West Virginia a 2-1 lead. He scored on the second sacrifice fly of the game to make it a 3-1 ballgame. A two-out base hit in the fifth pushed the WVU advantage to three, 4-1.

Jared Janczak took the no-decision after allowing four runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings. Charles King turned in 3 1/3 scoreless innings. Sean Wymer (2-2) took the loss for the Frogs.
