FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU head coach Jamie Dixon announced the signing of forward Andre Pierce Friday.
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Pierce averaged 9.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game for Lee College last season as a sophomore and is No. 1 among JUCO prospects according to 247Sports.com. As a freshman, Pierce averaged 7.7 points and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 48.9 percent from the field.
"Andre is versatile, long and plays with a lot of intensity," said Dixon. "Andre has a high motor and combined with a strong skill set for someone his size. He comes from a respected basketball program that has produced successful high-level Division I basketball players."
Pierce, who attended high school at North Florida Educational Institute, will be a junior next season. He will join Lat Mayen, R.J. Nembhard, Shawn Olden and Kevin Samuel as newcomers in the fall. They make up a recruiting class that ranks No. 26 in the nation according to Scout.com.
