
TCU Set For Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - The TCU men's and women's track and field team will compete at the 2017 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas, this weekend.
Action will get underway at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, with the hammer throw and will run until Saturday, April 1. While the Horned Frogs sprint, jumps and throwing squads will take part in the 90th annual Texas Relays, a handful of TCU distance runners will compete at the Stanford Invitational.

The meet in Austin will be broadcast live on the Longhorn Network and ESPN3, and live results will be available via PrimeTime.
The Field
The Frogs will compete among more than 7,700 athletes from nearly 200 colleges throughout their stint in Austin.
Top 25
TCU holds 11 top-25 times in the NCAA heading into this weekend.
Freshman Derrick Mokaleng ranks 14th in the nation in the 400 meters at 46.73. Junior Kevin McClanahan ranks 18th in the country in the 400 meters at 46.92. TCU's 4x100 relay squad of Raymond Bozmans, junior Emeilo Ferguson, sophomore Darrion Flowers and junior Jalen Miller hold the NCAA's 16th-fastest time this season at 39.89. The 4x400 relay quartet of Flowers, freshman Jostyn Andrews, McClanahan and Mokaleng rank 12th in the nation at 3:09.20.
Junior Sabrina Moore holds the NCAA's No. 7 time and senior Judy Emeodi ranks 16th in the 100 meters with times of 11.40 and 11.55, respectively. Sophomore Kayla Heard ran the nation's seventh-fastest time in the 400 meters at 53.23. Sophomore Brittney Trought ranks No. 8 in the country in the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.31. Sophomore Lexi Aitken ranks 21st in the NCAA in the 400 hurdles with a time of 59.60. The women's 4x100 relay team of Emeodi, Moore, junior Briona Oliver and Heard rank 16th in the country with a time of 44.78. The 4x400 relay team of Tiffany Terry, Heard, Aitken and freshman Jaden Davis hold the nation's 15th-fastest time at 3:40.64.
Big 12 Champion
In her first collegiate 5,000-meter race, Goertzen took home gold at the Big 12 Indoor Championships with a school-record time of 16:02.80. Her time broke the previous TCU record by more than 20 seconds and beat out second place by 12 seconds. She also went on to place third in the 3K at the conference championships at 9:23.01.
Leap Frog
Junior Scotty Newton represented the Horned Frogs at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in the triple jump to cap the indoor season. Newton placed 12th at the meet and leads the way in jumps on the men's side. Newton moved to No. 2 on TCU's all-time list with a personal-best distance of 53 feet 4.25 inches (16.26 meters) at Frisco during the indoor season.

* 2012: Whitney Gipson (indoor long jump, outdoor long jump)
* Only one other school in the Big 12 has claimed gold in each year since 2013 (Texas).
