Williams and the Horned Frogs have made an impressive run throughout the postseason so far, and look to continue to do so on Tuesday night against the Richmond Spiders. Williams posted 28 points and 20 rebounds in two NIT games against Fresno State and Iowa last week. The Waco native earned a double-double in both games, while also adding 5 steals and 7 assists.
The winner of Tuesday's 6 p.m. game at Schollmaier Arena will advance to the semifinals at Madison Square Garden and play on Tuesday, March 28.
On the women's side, Trought ran an NCAA-leading time of 13.31 in the 100 hurdles at the TCU Invitational to open the outdoor season on Saturday. The Aledo, Texas native's effort not only marks the fastest time in the nation, but it also ranks third in school history.
Trought and the track and field teams will return to action next week at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
