The Rundown
TCU's best chance to get on the board came in the first. Austen Wade worked a lead-off walk and Luken Baker a walk with two outs. Josh Watson gave it a ride, but to the deepest part of the ballpark where it was tracked down by the center fielder.
The Frogs had a base runner in six of the next eight innings, but couldn't extend the frame beyond four batters.
Long Beach State capitalized on its first real opportunity of the game in the fifth inning. Luke Rasmussen singled to open the frame and scored on a triple by Lucas Tancas. A ground out, followed by a solo home run from Ramsey Romano made it a 3-0 game.
A bases-loaded error in the eighth put the game out of reach as the Dirtbags ultimately pushed across four runs in the frame.
Brian Howard started for the Frogs and pitched a perfect first inning. Dalton Horton (0-1) took the loss after allowing three runs on five hits in four innings of work. Sean Wymer pitched two scoreless frames with two strikeouts.
