Boesen leads the Big 12 and is tied for fourth nationally with 11 1/2 sacks, a total that is tied for third most in a season in TCU history. His 14 1/2 tackles for loss are second on the Horned Frogs to Ben Banogu (15 1/2). He's tied with Banogu for the team lead with three forced fumbles.
Boesen's 57 tackles on the season, which place fifth on the team, are the most by a TCU defensive lineman since two-time consensus first-team All-American Jerry Hughes had 58 stops in 2009.
A senior from Torrance, Calif., Boesen set TCU and Big 12 records against Baylor with 5 1/2 sacks, just a 1/2 sack shy of the NCAA single-game mark. He also forced a fumble which led to a TCU touchdown while totaling a team-best and career-high 10 tackles. His efforts in that game earned him selection as the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week.
Boesen was a first-team All-Big 12 selection. He has at least one tackle for loss in nine games this season, most recently 1 1/2 in the Big 12 Championship Game. He has a sack in six of the last eight contests.
No. 15 TCU will face No. 13 Stanford Dec. 28 in the Valero Alamo Bowl.
