Team Notes
* TCU dropped to 26-3 when taking the field as an AP top-5 team under head coach Gary Patterson. Since 2000, it's the third-best record nationally for any program when ranked in the top 5.
* TCU is 42-5 as a top-10 team under Patterson.
* The Horned Frogs fell to 23-20 against ranked teams under Patterson, including a 9-6 mark over the last four seasons.
* TCU is now 106-4 under Patterson when allowing 17 points or less.
* TCU lost for just the second time in its last nine road games.
* The Horned Frogs are now 16-10 on the road in their Big 12 history.
* TCU allowed just 255 yards of offense, including only 40 in the second half.
* The Horned Frogs did not lead at the half for the first time this season.
* An Iowa State touchdown on its second series snapped a streak of eight consecutive quarters in which TCU did not allow a touchdown. The Horned Frogs have not surrendered a touchdown in 10 of their last 12 quarters.
* A Jeff Gladney interception was TCU's eighth of the season, equaling its total from last year.
* Sacks by Innis Gaines and Mat Boesen gave TCU at least one sack in 49 of its last 51 games.
* TCU scored for the 314th consecutive game. It's the nation's second-longest current streak and fourth all-time in NCAA history. The Horned Frogs haven't been blanked since Nov. 16, 1991 at Texas (32-0).
* Since beginning Big 12 play in 2012, TCU is 4-2 versus Iowa State.
* TCU's team captains were Ben Banogu, Kenny Hill, Travin Howard and Matt Pryor.
* TCU wore a white jersey with white pants and a purple matte helmet.
Individual Notes
* KaVontae Turpin had a 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the second-half kickoff. It was his first career score in that manner and the first kickoff return for a touchdown by a Horned Frog since B.J. Catalon went 94 yards at Baylor in 2014.
* Turpin's four combined kickoff and punt returns for touchdowns tie LaTarence Dunbar (1999-02) for the most in TCU history.
* Turpin is tied for TCU's lead in career punt returns for a touchdown with three.
* Darius Anderson's 95 yards on 12 carries led TCU in rushing for the sixth time this season.
* John Diarse's two receptions for 25 yards extended his team-best streak to 22 consecutive games with a catch. It includes his final contest at LSU in 2015.
* Desmon White had two receptions for 30 yards to give him a catch in 18 consecutive games, the second-longest active streak (Diarse, 22) for the Horned Frogs.
* Jaelan Austin recorded a team-best three receptions for 39 yards.
* Ty Summers had a team-best 11 tackles, his 12th career game in double figures which ties Travin Howard for the active lead among current Horned Frogs.
* Jeff Gladney had the first interception of his career.
* Mat Boesen had a sack for the third consecutive game. His four sacks on the season are second on the team (Ben Banogu, 4 1/2).
* Banogu recorded a tackle for loss, giving him at least one in each game this season. He has a team-best 9 1/2 tackles for loss on the season.
* Innis Gaines recorded his second sack of the season on Iowa State's opening possession. Both sacks have come in the Horned Frogs' last two road games.
* Adam Nunez had two first-quarter 58-yard punts, the longest of his career.
