
Frogs Take Momentum to No. 22 Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- The TCU women's basketball team will take some momentum on the road when the Frogs travel to take on No. 22 Kansas State at Bramlage Coliseum on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
TCU (9-8, 1-5) is coming off of an 80-75 win over Iowa State on Sunday in which it exploded in the second half for a comeback win. Kansas State (14-4, 4-2) has won three straight games, including a 20-point road win at Oklahoma State last weekend.

Last Time Out
Senior Jada Butts scored a career-high 25 points and paced an explosive second half as TCU defeated Iowa State, 80-75, at Schollmaier Arena on Sunday for its first Big 12 win of the season.
TCU exploded for 53 points in the second half, including 29 in the third quarter, as it quickly erased a 13-point second-half deficit.
Butts' 25 points came on just 15 shots from the field as she added an 8-of-10 effort from the free throw line. Toree Thompson added 14 points, with 12 in the second half. AJ Alix scored all 13 of her points and dished all eight of her assists in the second half.
TCU used a 14-0 third-quarter run to turn a 10-point deficit into a four-point lead with under four minutes to go in the quarter. From there, TCU never led by more six points, but also never lost the lead.
Scouting Kansas State
Kansas State has won three straight games, and four of five since a Big 12-opening loss at Baylor. The Wildcats' lone loss in that span is an overtime defeat at Oklahoma. K-State is coming off of a 63-43 win at Oklahoma State on Saturday in which it forced 22 turnovers and held the Cowgirls under 30 percent shooting.
The Wildcats rank second in the Big 12, allowing just 57.7 points per game, and haven't allowed a team to score over 60 points during their three-game winning streak.
Kansas State is led by senior Preseason All-Big 12 pick Breanna Lewis who is averaging 14.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Senior guard Kindred Wesemann joins her in double figures at 13.5 points per game.
The Series
TCU leads the all-time series against Kansas State, 5-4, with a 4-4 mark against the Wildcats since joining the Big 12 in 2012-13.
The two split last season's meetings with each home team winning. TCU is 1-3 all-time in Manhattan with the lone win coming in 2013-14.
Five Points
1) TCU will be playing its fourth Big 12 road contest on Wednesday with all four coming against ranked teams. TCU has started league play with games at Oklahoma, Texas and Baylor. After Wednesday, five of TCU's six road games this season will have been against ranked teams.
2) Jada Butts, who scored a career-high 25 points in Sunday's win over Iowa State, will play in her 100th game as a Horned Frog on Wednesday.
3) In Big 12 play, AJ Alix is averaging 15.5 points per game, ranking sixth in the league. She is also averaging 3.3 made 3-pointers per Big 12 game, the best mark in the league.
4) After going 0-of-5 from deep in the first half against Iowa State, TCU made 8-of-12 in the second half and finished at 47.1 percent for the game. The Frogs are sixth in the NCAA with a 39.8 percent mark as a team this season.
5) The Frogs lead the Big 12 as they assist on 68.3 percent of their baskets. TCU is second in the league and 23rd in the NCAA with 17.2 assists per game.
