FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU football team opens its preseason camp Wednesday.
Wednesday's itinerary begins with a 10:30 a.m. NCAA Compliance meeting. TCU head coach Gary Patterson, coordinators and select players will then participate in a media luncheon and availability. The afternoon schedule includes physicals, equipment disbursement and team meetings.
The Horned Frogs will hit the practice field for the first time Thursday at 4 p.m. Classes at TCU begin Monday, Aug. 22.
Not including six starters (four defensive, two offensive) who suffered season-ending injuries a year ago and return in 2016, TCU welcomes back 13 starters (seven defensive, six offensive) from last year's 11-2 team that finished seventh in the nation after its 47-41 triple-overtime victory over Oregon in the Valero Alamo Bowl.
TCU is 23-3, including a 15-3 mark in the Big 12, over the last two seasons.
The Horned Frogs open the 2016 campaign Sept. 3 at home versus South Dakota State. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. with the game televised on FSN.
