July 29, 2016 WE'VE MOVED!
As part of converting the upstairs area of the John Justin Athletic Center into a football-only facility, we've moved my office, other senior staff members and our business office into the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena. We're now located on the second floor, right above the Jane and John Justin Hall of Fame. Just come through the main entrance of the arena and take the elevator or stairs to the right.
RIO BOUND
We have four former student-athletes headed to Rio for the 2016 Summer Olympics! We'll be represented by Sarah Scherer (USA Rifle), Edgar Crespo (Panama Swimming - 100 Breast), Kim Collins (St. Kitts and Nevis Track and Field - 100 Meters) and Lorraine Ugen (Great Britain Track and Field - Long Jump). We wish them the absolute best and look forward to them hopefully flashing the Frog Sign on the medal stand.

MEET THE FROGS
Please mark your calendar for Saturday, Aug. 27, for our annual and very popular Meet The Frogs event. Our football student-athletes and head coach Gary Patterson will be available for autographs and pictures from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Sam Baugh Indoor Practice Facility. As a heads-up and consistent with past years, the only item that will be signed is the team poster provided at the event.
#TCURHINO
Via social media and our website, we hope you've been following men's basketball student-athlete Brandon Parrish and the phenomenal experience he's enjoying this summer in South Africa. Brandon is one of 10 TCU students focusing on rhinos, conservation and biodiversity. The group is traveling to Cape Town, Johannesburg and the Amakhala Game Reserve. The below photo shows Brandon helping dehorn a rhino as protection from poachers.

HORNED FROG FACTOR
The Frog Factor continues even after graduation! Many of you know my friends Elliott Hill with Nike and former TCU basketball student-athlete Matt Minnis. They were recently in Los Angeles with another former Horned Frogs basketball letterman Joe Stephen, who is a captain at the L.A. Sheriff's Department. All three were together at TCU in the mid-80s and here they are again, 30 years later, teaming to donate 565 pairs of Nike shoes to the L.A. Boys & Girls Clubs.

A STRONG FINISH
We were very proud to receive notice that we finished 13th nationally on the men's side in the 2015-16 Capital One Cup standings that measure the overall strength of your athletics program. We earned 52 points as a result of top-10 finishes in baseball, football and tennis. We were No. 42 for the women. In the Learfield Directors' Cup standings, we were ranked as the No. 39 overall athletics program in the nation.
SOCCER AND VOLLEYBALL SEASON TICKETS AVAILABLE

NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Jim Carrey, as Hank in Me, Myself & Irene, was referring somewhat to himself when he said, "Charlie's like origami, he folds under pressure."

This Week's Question: "I could use a good man to help me get my project on wheels. I'll keep an eye out for you and the chessboard ready."
COMPLIANCE CORNER
New NCAA Legislation set to go into effect Aug. 1 now allow athletics department staff members to engage with prospective student-athletes in a limited fashion on social media. A breakdown is provided below.
CLICK, DON'T TYPE
CLICK - Coaches and staff may like, favorite, react, share, retweet, or repost because these activities indicate approval of a prospect's social media activity. These actions require the clicking of a mouse or screen.
DON'T TYPE - Coaches and staff may not comment, tag, mention, repost/retweet with additional comments, or add anything additional to a post because these activities go beyond indicating approval of a prospect's post. These actions require typing.
CAMPUS VISITS - Coaches and staff may click on a prospect's post during his or her visit to campus as long as the post was not at the direction of coaches or staff. For example, if a prospect posts a picture taken on the sideline during football pregame activities (and was not posted or taken at the direction of coaches or staff), coaches and staff may retweet that photo.
RECRUITING/SCOUTING SERVICES - Coaches and staff may not retweet a recruiting or scouting service post because this is considered endorsing that service, which remains impermissible.
