The Waco product, who exploded onto the scene two season's ago, was expected to play a pivotal role on TCU's season a year ago, but a season-ending injury forced him to miss the entire 2015-16 campaign. The last time the junior laced up his sneakers for an actual game was in the second round of the 2015 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship versus Kansas on March 12, 2015.
Fast forward to now and Williams can be seen pushing himself everyday while no one is watching, putting in countless hours of rehab and in the gym just so he can return to the form that saw him score in double-figures 15 times in 2014-15.
During his last season on the hardwood, Williams was at his best against conference opponents as all but one of his season-highs came against Big 12 foes. He wrapped-up league play ranking No. 7 overall in rebounding after averaging 6.8 rebounds a contest and No. 3 in offensive rebounds with 2.78 offensive boards a game. On the season, Williams was even better, finishing No. 5 overall in rebounds (6.7) and No. 3 in offensive rebounds (2.82), respectively.
With that type of production in place, Williams is patiently waiting to make his presence known once again throughout the Big 12 and nation.
