TCU Completes NCAA Second Round

EUGENE, Oregon -- The TCU men's golf team entered the day in first place, but shot a 19-over 299 and slipped to 23rd place after two rounds of NCAA Championships at the Eugene Country Club.
After Sunday's third round, the field will be cut and only the top 15 teams will play in Monday's fourth round. The Horned Frogs, now at 21-over 581 for the tournament, are just six shots behind five teams that are all tied for the coveted 15th place.
Paul Barjon led the way for TCU on Saturday with an even-par 70 and is now 1-under par for the tournament, good for a tie for sixth place individually.
In addition to only 15 teams moving on after Sunday's round, the top nine individuals not on one of those teams will also advance. Barjon would currently make the cut individually, as would Chelso Barrett who shot a 3-over 73 on Saturday and is in a tie for 24th place at 1-over par through two rounds.
Pierre Mazier and Ryan Brooks both shot 78 for the Frogs on Saturday, moving them to 9-over and 12-over, respectively, through two rounds. Giulio Castagnara rounded out TCU's day with an 80 and is now 16-over for the tournament.
The Frogs will begin their third round at 3:17 p.m. CT on Sunday when Castagnara tees off from No. 1. Barjon will be the last Frogs to tee off when his round begins at 4:01 p.m. CT.
