Norrie Garners Second Weekly Honor

FORT WORTH, Texas – For the second time this season and third time in his career, sophomore men's tennis player Cameron Norrie has been named Big 12 Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
The Auckland, New Zealand native went undefeated in singles and doubles as TCU scored two wins over top 15 ranked opponents to improve to 15-2 on the season. With the 4-3 wins over No. 12 Northwestern and No. 7 Texas A&M, the Frogs improved their winning streak to 10 straight this season and 22 consecutive wins at home.
Playing at the top two positions, Norrie opened the week with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over No. 42 Sam Shropshire before downing No. 45 Shane Vinsant, 7-6(5), 6-3. With the two victories over the ranked foes, Norrie improved to 12-5 against opponents ranked inside the Oracle/ITA singles poll and 15-5 overall this season. Norrie paired with Jerry Lopez and Alex Rybakov in doubles action to pick up his eighth and ninth doubles victories of the season. The sophomore first defeated Alp Horoz and Mihir Kumar to pick up the doubles point against the Wildcats, before scoring a 7-5 victory with Rybakov for the pair's third straight victory this season.
TCU will be back at action at home at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center for the next five straight competitions. The Frogs will start with a doubleheader on Friday, April 1 against Rice at Noon and UT Arlington at 5:30 p.m. The team will then wrap-up its nonconference slate against SMU (April 6), before kicking off Big 12 play with Oklahoma (April 8) and Oklahoma State (April 10).
