TCU shot a 293, a 6-stroke improvement from Sunday's opening round, to move into a tie for eighth place at 592. No. 8 Arkansas leads with a 570, 7 strokes ahead of No. 5 Georgia.
"We are moving on up and working on going from good to great," TCU head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "The team is definitely committed to the process which is showing progress. Proud to be a Horned Frog!"
McGovern posted the third sub-70 round of her TCU career, 2 shots off her career-low 67 set this fall at the Golfweek Conference Challenge. She birdied three holes and shot par on 15.
McGovern is tied for sixth individually with an even-par 144, just 5 strokes behind the 139 by leaders Maria Fassi of Arkansas and Gabby Barker from Texas Tech.
Annika Clark equaled a career low with a 2-under 70, while fellow TCU freshman Brooke Graebe posted an even-par 72.
Clark finished strong, recording birdies on three of her final eight holes. Graebe had a pair of birdies and shot par on 15 holes.
Clark and Graebe are tied for 12th individually at 2-over 146.
