Last Time Out
TCU dropped its first home contest of the season on Thursday, falling to Texas A&M, 75-67, in a very physical game at Schollmaier Arena. The Frogs got a season-high 19 points from Jada Butts on 7-of-10 shooting while three Frogs scored in double figures.
The Frogs led by three points after the first quarter, but shot under 30 percent in the second as Texas A&M built a 38-30 halftime lead. The Aggies built the lead up to 12 points early in the third quarter, but the Frogs fought back in spurts and had life late in the game.
Butts hit a 3-pointer with 3:06 to go that got the Frogs within five, 66-61, but from there Texas A&M went 8-of-9 at the free throw line to put the game away.
Scouting McNeese
McNeese (4-3) comes in well rested, having last played a week ago on Sunday, Dec. 4, when they lost at home to Louisiana Tech, 66-56. The Cowgirls opened the season with five straight home games and went 4-1. They lost their season-opener to UL Lafayette, then won four straight against non-Division I teams.
McNeese comes into Sunday leading the nation with 21.0 offensive rebounds and have outrebounded opponents by an average of 11.4 boards per game, 16th in the NCAA.
The Cowgirls are led by first-year head coach Kacie Cryer who has been an assistant coach at McNeese for the last seven seasons. McNeese won 20 games last season and played in the WBI, marking their sixth straight postseason tournament.
The Series
McNeese leads the all-time series, 1-0, with the lone meeting coming back in 1978. TCU has won 31 consecutive games against Southland Conference teams, including victories over Incarnate Word and Sam Houston State earlier this season.

1) TCU comes into Thursday's game shooting 42.6 percent from long range as a team this season, the second best mark in the NCAA. The Frogs are averaging 8.6 3-pointers per game, second in the Big 12 and 26th in the NCAA.
2) Butts is TCU's leading scorer at 11.9 points per game and is having a career year both scoring and passing with 3.5 assists per game. In her previous three seasons with TCU, Butts averaged 6.5 points and 1.2 assists per game.
