The Opponent
Washington comes into Saturday with a 4-1 overall record after defeating Western Kentucky in its last outing, 86-47. Against the Hilltoppers, Dominic Green led the way, scoring a game-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-6 from deep. Markelle Fultz also had a productive night with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists.
On the season, Fultz, a Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 List nominee, is averaging 22.2 points per game, while shooting 54.2 percent from the field. He has also dished out 7.2 assists per contest this season.
The Series
TCU and Washington will battle for only the third time in program history Saturday night. The Huskies lead the all-time series at 2-0 after dropping the Horned Frogs a year ago, 92-67. Jamie Dixon is 2-0 all-time against Washington as a head coach.
Grab The Rock
Junior Kenrich Williams posted a career-high 18 rebounds in TCU's 63-59 victory over UNLV Friday night. His 18 boards were the most since fellow teammate Karviar Shepherd posted 19 a year ago against Delaware State. His 18 rebounds are the most in a single-game in the Big 12 Conference this season and is tied for the 10th highest in the NCAA this year.
Creating Turnovers
TCU forced UNLV into 19 total turnovers, marking the fifth-straight game in which the Horned Frogs have had less turnovers than its opponent. The Purple and White have twice this season pressured their opponent into 20 plus turnovers for the game.
It's A Start
By defeating UNLV Friday night, head coach Jamie Dixon became the first first-year head coach in program history to start his career with a 5-0 record. TCU last started a season 5-0 in 2014-15 when the Horned Frogs went 13-0 in non-conference play. Overall, the 5-0 start marks only the ninth time in program history a team has opened its season at 5-0.
Rebounding Machine
TCU out-rebounded UNLV in its last outing, 42-39, marking the fifth-straight game in which the Horned Frogs have out-rebounded their opponent. In the last two years, TCU is 14-3 overall when out-rebounding its opponent. When broken down even further, head coach Jamie Dixon is now 270-50 overall as a head coach when his team out-boards the opposition. He was 17-4 last season at Pitt.
Bane Continues Hot Start
Freshman Desmond Bane has had quite the start to his career as the Indiana product is averaging 12.5 points, while shooting a red hot 58 percent from the field, in his last four starts. Bane, who has also made eight-straight free throws to open the year, is the highest ranked rookie in the Big 12 Conference at No. 4 in field goal percentage with a 59 percent clip after five games.
Numbers Tell The Story
With an average of almost 20 assists per game, TCU currently ranks No. 10 in the NCAA in assists per game. Even more impressive though is that the Frogs rank No. 9 nationally in steals per game after the first five contests.
Individually, Jaylen Fisher currently ranks fourth among all freshmen nationally in total assists with 27. He also ranks No. 4 among all freshmen in the NCAA in assists per game with 5.4. Overall, he ranks No. 31 nationally in assists per game and No. 53 in steals. Teammate Alex Robinson currently sits No. 27 in the NCAA in steals.
November Numbers
TCU improved to 43-16 during the month of November since 2008 with its 63-59 win over UNLV. Jamie Dixon is now 75-6 during the month of November as a head coach.
