FORT WORTH – TCU women's rifle head coach Karen Monez has announced the signing of Elizabeth Marsh to an NLI. She will be a freshman in the fall of 2017.
"We are very excited that Elizabeth will be joining the team next fall, said Monez. "We have watched her progress for the last few years as she has excelled at the national level. Already a top athlete with an impressive shooting resume, I anticipate Elizabeth will be a standout student-athlete at TCU. Elizabeth will add depth to the roster in both events as she already exhibits the talent and skill level to achieve success at TCU."
Marsh, a native of Searcy, Ark., has a wealth of experience in her young career. A member of the USA Shooting National Team, Marsh has competed in six international competitions over the last three seasons. She has twice competed at the USA World Cup (2014 & 2015) and in the Munich Bavarian Airgun Championships (2014 & 2016). Additionally, she has competed at the 2014 Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany, and the 2015 Pan American Games.
She had an outstanding year in 2013, earning four National Champion titles, including the USA Shooting National Junior Air Rifle Championship and the National Rifle Association 3-Position Air Rifle Champion. She was a silver medalist in the USA Shooting National 3-Position Air Rifle event as well as a three-time silver medalist in the USA Shooting Winter Airgun Championships. Additionally, she earned a bronze medal in the Civilian Marksmanship Program 3-Position air rifle discipline.
In 2014, Marsh finished just 0.4 of a point behind current Horned Frog Mindy Miles earning a silver medal at the USA Shooting National Air Rifle Championships.
The 2015 season brought more championships as she became one of only three junior competitors to win both the National Junior Olympic Air Rifle championship and the National Junior Olympic Smallbore championship.
