
Rifle Hosts Air Force This Weekend

FORT WORTH – The TCU women's rifle team is slated to host Air Force for a pair of matches this weekend. The teams will shoot a match on both Saturday and Sunday.
TCU, ranked No. 3 by the CRCA, is 6-0 on the season. The Horned Frogs have had a strong start to the 2016-17 campaign, posting five scores over the 4,700 plateau. TCU's season aggregate average of 4,709 is second in the nation, while its air rifle average of 2,374 is tops nationally. In smallbore, the team boasts a season average of 2,334.5, a mark that also ranks second nationally.
Mindy Miles has dominated the air rifle discipline this season. She boasts a 597 average for the season, two points higher than the next competitor. Rachel Garner's 594 average is sixth-best nationally.
Ariana Grabowski and Casey Lutz represent TCU in the top-10 nationally in smallbore. Grabowski's 584 average is tops on the squad and seventh nationally, while Lutz is close behind in ninth with a season average of 583.
Air Force enters this weekend's matches ranked eighth-nationally. The Falcons are fourth nationally with their season aggregate average of 4,693. They are averaging a 2,371 in air rifle to rank third, while its 2,322 in smallbore ranks fourth.
Ryan Jacobs is the Falcon to watch in smallbore, ranking eighth nationally with his 584 average. Spencer Cap's 594 air rifle average ranks seventh nationally to lead Air Force in that discipline.
