Frogs Receiving Votes in Latest AP Poll

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU is receiving votes in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 rankings, marking the first time since the 2011-12 season that the Frogs have been on a voter’s AP ballot and the first time since joining the Big 12 Conference prior to the 2012-13 season.
TCU was last ranked in the Associated Press poll on Nov. 22, 2010 at No. 21 in the nation. All-time, the Horned Frogs have been ranked on 38 occasions with their highest ranking in program history being 13th in the nation.
The AP Poll mention continues a trend of Big 12 firsts for the Frogs in the last week in Big 12 Conference play as TCU secured its first win in a Big 12 Conference opener with a win at Texas Tech and their first 2-0 start in Big 12 Conference play since joining the league following the opening weekend sweep that included a win over Kansas State.
The Frogs have a challenging week ahead as they face No. 17 Oklahoma on Wednesday and No. 6 Baylor on Saturday.
TCU had two wins over ranked opponent a year ago, defeating 16th ranked Oklahoma and 14th ranked Texas in 2014-15. TCU owns three wins over top five teams in the last seven seasons, including a 2008-09 win over No. 3/5 Maryland, a 2008-09 win over No. 3/3 California and a 2009-10 win over No. 10/5 Texas A&M.
The Frogs return to the court on Wednesday night in the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena as TCU welcomes Oklahoma to Fort Worth. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest Plus with Chuck LaMendola (play-by-play) and TCU great Janice Dziuk (analyst) on the call. The game is also available on on the radio via KTCU 88.7 FM in the DFW Metroplex and through GoFrogs.com with Jeff Williams (play-by-play) on the call.

Saturday’s game at Baylor will be televised nationally of FSN with Ron Thulin (play-by-play) and Brenda VanLengen (analyst) on the call. Tipoff is set for 11:00 a.m. CT at the Ferrell Center in Waco. ###
