Big 12 Conference Announces Conference Slate

FORT WORTH, Texas - A full slate of 18 television appearances highlight the Big 12 portion of TCU's men's basketball schedule released on Thursday by conference officials.
The Horned Frogs, who return three out of their five starters from a year ago, will have 17 of their 18 league contests broadcast on the ESPN family of networks, while one other will be made available on a third-tier outlet. The squad will play 14 league games against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season, including seven in Fort Worth.
In addition, five of the nine home contests will also fall on a Saturday as the Frogs' will open play in Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena. The arena is currently undergoing a $72 million renovation.
The Frogs will have 10 games nationally broadcast on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, which includes their Jan. 4 home opener against West Virginia set to be shown on ESPN2 at 6:00 p.m. TCU will also play both contests against reining Big 12 champion Kansas on either ESPN or ESPN2, respectively. The Purple and White will travel to Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 1:00 p.m., with a return home date set for Saturday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. in Fort Worth.
ESPNU contests include the Frogs' home tilt with Texas at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, while the Purple and White will also take on Texas Tech (Jan. 18; 6:00 p.m.), Iowa State (Jan. 23; 3:00 p.m.), Oklahoma State (Feb. 8; 6:00 p.m. CT) and Baylor (Feb. 27; 7:00 p.m.) in Fort Worth. Road games on ESPNU include West Virginia (Feb. 13; 11:00 a.m.) and at Iowa State (Feb. 20; 6:30 p.m.).
TCU's conference opener at Oklahoma State on Saturday, Jan. 2 will be the first of six games broadcast on ESPNEWS. The Purple and White's road contests versus Baylor (Jan. 13), Oklahoma (Feb. 2; 7:00 p.m.) and Texas Tech (Feb. 23; 8:00 p.m.), as well as home games versus K-State (Feb. 17) and Oklahoma on Saturday, March 5 at 12:00 p.m. will all be shown on ESPNEWS.
Other regionally broadcasted games for the 2015-16 season include a Wednesday road showdown at Texas on Tuesday, Jan. 26 and a tilt at K-State on March 2.
In addition, TCU received word Thursday that its non-conference Big 12/SEC Challenge showdown with Tennessee on Saturday, Jan. 30 will televised on ESPN2.
All game times and television plans for TCU's remaining games will be announced at a later date.
