TCU Recognized by Capital One Cup

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU Athletics was recognized by the Capital One Cup, which ranks universities based on athletic excellence for the 2014-15 season.
The men's teams finished seventh overall, while the women's teams placed 49th.
TCU enjoyed a wealth of success during the 2014-15 season. The year began with a 12-1 season in football, claiming the Big 12 Championship and a win in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, finishing the season at No. 3. Men's track & field produced another national champion in Ronnie Baker in the 60-meter dash, which broke a 15-year-old school record.
The men's tennis team advanced to the final four of the NCAA Championship tournament, while the women's tennis finished tied for second in the Big 12 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championships. Men's swimming & diving finished runner-up at the Big 12 Championships. Women's basketball recorded its first postseason win since 2008 in the WNIT. The men's golf team finished 10th overall at the NCAA Championships and the women's team also clinched an NCAA Regional berth, finishing eighth.
Baseball put the bow on a successful year for TCU after posting its second 50 win season, tallying a Big 12 regular season title and another trip to the College World Series, finishing fourth.
The Capital One Cup is awarded annually to each of the best men's and women's Division I college athletics programs in the country. Points toward the Capital One Cup are earned and tracked throughout the year based on final standings of NCAA Championships and final official coaches' polls.
