FORT WORTH, Texas - Baseball's Tyler Alexander and women's track and field's Brianna McGhee have been named the TCU Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week for their recent performances.
Alexander, a sophomore from Southlake, had a perfect game going against the NC State Wolfpack through six innings in game six of the Fort Worth Regional on Sunday. Alexander's quest for perfection was thwarted by an error in the infield, but he finished the game for his third career complete game. He finished with only allowing two runs (one unearned) on three hits, striking out six in the 8-2 win over the Wolfpack.
Alexander and the men's baseball team host the Texas A&M Aggies in Super Regional action beginning Saturday, June 6, at 2 p.m.
McGhee, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, broke the school record in the 100-meter hurdles on Saturday at the NCAA West Prelims in Austin. She clocked in at a wind-legal time of 13.24 seconds and won her heat to punch her ticket to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, next week.
