TCU Finishes Eighth at NCAA Regional

ST. GEORGE, Utah -- The TCU women's golf team shot a 295 on Saturday and finished eighth at the NCAA Regional.
The Horned Frogs, making their 19th postseason appearance in the last 20 years, saw their campaign come to a close. The top-six teams advanced to the NCAA Championships from May 22-27 in Bradenton, Fla. TCU was 10 strokes behind sixth-place Cal.
TCU's 11-over-par 295 was its best round of the regional. The Horned Frogs lowered their score by seven shots from Friday (302) and 18 from Thursday (313), when the tournament's opening round was marked by high winds.
TCU senior Alexandra Bonetti saw her bid for an individual berth to the NCAA Championships end in a playoff. The senior from Paris, France, tied for 13th individually with a 10-over 223.
Bonetti's final-round 74 included back-to-back birdies on the front nine and three birdies on the day.
Bonetti posted her 14th career top-20 finish.
With her second-straight 73, Kelly McGovern had the Horned Frogs' low score in back-to-back rounds. The sophomore from The Woodlands, Texas, had a birdie and shot par on 14 holes. She tied for 20th individually, her fifth top-20 result of the season and fourth in the last six tournaments.
Kortnie Maxoutopoulis and Emmy Martin contributed 74s for TCU. Maxoutopoulis had a birdie and shot par on 13 holes. Martin had a pair of birdies on the back nine and three for her round.
Chaney Uhles had a birdie on the par 4, 332-yard 17th hole.
