TCU Announces Athletes of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas - Baseball's Alex Young and women's tennis' Stefanie Tan have been named the TCU Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week for their recent performances.
Young, a junior from Hawthorn Woods, Illinois, pitched seven scoreless frames, allowing just one solo home run on his second pitch in the game against Texas Tech on Saturday. He allowed just four hits in the game, walked two and struck out seven against the Red Raiders.
Young and the baseball team opens a road series with Kansas State on Friday beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Manhattan.
Tan, a senior from Bishan, Singapore, has strung together five straight wins, totaling 11 on the season, after her 6-3, 6-4 victory in the win over North Texas on April 1. Tan and her doubles partner, Seda Arantekin, have put together 15 wins this season, winning 10 at the No. 1 position, taking down four ranked opponents in the process.
The women's tennis team squares off with Iowa State on Friday at 5:30 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
