Six Earn Academic All-Big 12

FORT WORTH, Texas - Six members of the TCU men's and women's tennis teams were honored by the Big 12 Conference on Tuesday afternoon by being named to the 2015 Academic All-Big 12 First and Second Teams.
All four student-athletes honored on the men's team were First Team selections, with seniors Nick Chappell, Arnau Dachs and Blake Wiggins along with sophomore Hudson Blake receiving the honor. Senior Stefanie Tan made the First Team on the women's side, while fellow senior Simona Parajova represented TCU on the Second Team.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
TCU will hit the road for their next competitions, as the Frogs compete in the 2015 Big 12 Tennis Championships at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas on April 24-26. Both teams will open competition on Friday, with the men taking on Oklahoma State at Noon and the women facing Texas at 3 p.m.
