ARLINGTON, Texas - A furious two-out rally in the seventh inning saw UT Arlington score seven runs to halt TCU's four-game winning streak with an 8-1 victory Tuesday at Clay Gould Ballpark. Derek Odell had three hits in the loss.

Tyler Alexander (1-2) was strong through six innings before running into trouble with two out in the seventh. He was ultimately touched for five runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings of work. Preston Guillory pitched around a hit and a walk in the ninth.

TCU had chances to push across runs in almost every inning. The Frogs had the lead-off batter on in four of the first six innings. Four Maverick pitchers held the Frogs to the solo run despite giving up 10 hits on the night.

The Mavericks jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. With two outs, Levi Scott hit an opposite field home run to give UTA the lead.

After being held in check through the first four innings, the Frogs finally broke through in the fifth. For the third time in the game the Frogs got the lead-off batter on after Keaton Jones singled to start the fifth. A sacrifice from Jeremie Fagnan moved Jones into scoring position with one out. Connor Wanhanen came through with a two-out triple to tie the game at one.

RJ Williams singled back up the middle with two outs in the seventh, kicking off a furious rally by the Mavericks. The hit started a string of eight straight batters to reach base. Alexander looked to would be out of the inning with a fly ball but it eluded the TCU outfielders and fell in for a two-run double, giving UTA a 3-1 lead. From there, the floodgates opened as five more runs would cross the plate to push the Maverick lead to 8-1.

With the loss, TCU falls to 21-5 overall. The Horned Frogs will return to conference play beginning Thursday night when they head west to Lubbock for a three game series at Texas Tech. First pitch on Thursday is set for 6:30. The game will be televised on FOX College Sports.
