TCU Announces Scholar-Athletes of the Month

Dachs, a senior from Vic, Spain, snagged a victory with his doubles partner Guillermo Nunez to get a win over LSU. The win earned them a spot at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships with the rest of the men's tennis team. The senior also won his singles match against No. 111 Justin Butsch 6-2, 6-1.
Dachs and the Horned Frogs will play in two dual matches against New Mexico on Feb. 6 and Tulsa on Feb. 8 before heading to the indoor championships.
Black, a junior from Richmond Va., shot a 596 in air rifle and recorded a 1,180-point aggregate score, both career-highs, on Jan. 31 to beat Nebraska and Navy at the NU Rifle Range. The Virginia native also fired a 584 in smallbore, one point from her personal-best of 585. She joined three teammates as the only Horned Frogs to reach 1,180 plateau in a match. Black has reached or surpassed the 590-point plateau seven times in 10 matches this year.
Black and the rifle team have a match against Air Force on Friday, Feb. 6, and then head to the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Saturday and Sunday.
