Game Notes:
• TCU shut out its opening day opponent for the second straight season.
• TCU improved to 8-4 in season openers under the guidance of Jim Schlossnagle.
• Keaton Jones broke Taylor Featherston's (2009-11) career record of 554 assists. He now owns the record with 555.
• Keaton Jones posted his 34th career multi-hit game.
• Evan Skoug, Nolan Brown, Elliott Barzilli, Connor Wanhanen and Dane Steinhagen made their TCU debut on Friday night.
• Wanhanen and Steinhagen both recorded their first career hits and first career RBI.
• Brown picked up TCU's first extra-base hit of the season, a double in the fifth inning.
• Cody Jones reached base for the 21st consecutive game dating back to last season.
• Preston Morrison has 36 career quality starts and has pitched at least seven innings in 30 starts.
• Mitchell Traver tallied his first career strikeout in the ninth inning.
• The TCU pitching staff recorded multiple pickoffs in a game for the first time since picking off two against Dartmouth on March 15, 2014.
