Rifle Rolls; Finishes First At Ohio State

FORT WORTH – The TCU women's rifle team continued its torrid start to the 2015-16 season with a 4,695-4,658 victory at Ohio State.
TCU shot a team score of 2,326 in smallbore highlighted by a personal-best score of 587 from Rachel Garner. That mark set the standard for the match. Sally Li and Ariana Grabowski contributed 580s. For Grabowski, it's the third consecutive match and the fourth of the season in which she has reached the 580 plateau. Hannah Black rounded out the counters with a score of 579. Not factoring in the team score was Katie Bridges who fired a season-high 576.
On the air rifle side, TCU fired a team score of 2,369. Three Frogs shot 593 or better to post the top marks for the match. Black posted a match-high and a season-high 595 in air rifle. Li was right on Black's heels with a 594, while Nicole Hankey shot a 593. Mindy Miles rounded out the counters with a mark of 587.
Black and Li topped all shooters with an identical aggregate score of 1174. Hankey's 1,170 aggregate score was good enough for third.
TCU will close out the fall schedule this weekend when it travels to Army on Sunday.
