TCU Moderator: Welcome to today's online chat with TCU director of intercollegiate athletics Chris Del Conte. We'll begin shortly. |
| Keith - Fort Worth: Is there any chance of getting remote cameras installed in DMC to watch construction? I remember when AGC was being redone there were cameras you could watch construction online. Also, will there be a legacy brick program for DMC like there was for the Carter? thanks. |
Chris Del Conte: I've also asked that question. Unfortunately, because the coliseum is being gutted from the inside-out, there are variables here that don't allow us to post cameras. However, we will do a better job of including photos on our website in the near future. |
| Jeff (League City): Everyone we saw at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta liked the interactive videos. Could our the new Hall of Horned Frog Glory have something similar with activated video next to the different highlighted trophies TCU won so new fans and young frogs can see how we actually won that trophy from the regular season that year to the actual bowl game? |
Chris Del Conte: Absolutely! That is the plan, my friend. |
| Pat (Arlington, TX): Any plans for an autograph session with the football players and some Peach Bowl posters? |
Chris Del Conte: As we've done the last two years, we plan on having an autograph session with our football program during spring practice. We will keep you posted. |
| Aledo: There are rumors that we will play Baylor possibly @ AT&T Stadium, but most Horned Frogs we know DON'T want that to happen! Will we play them at Amon Carter and have home field advantage? |
Chris Del Conte: There is no chance of that game being moved. We will play on Black Friday versus Baylor at Amon G. Carter Stadium. |
| H.J. Kelly, Granbury, TX: The temporary basketball site is great because of the parking. Any plans to improve parking for the new facility and football parking? |
Chris Del Conte: With the addition of the new parking garage, we will have plenty of parking for the new basketball facility as well as home football games next fall. |
| Stephen, Dallas: Are there any plans to add LED ribbon boards to Amon G. Carter Stadium? And what happened to the arched TCU that was supposed to be in the upper deck? |
Chris Del Conte: The facade at Amon G. Carter Stadium is wired to add LED, and that is in the plans for the future. As mentioned previously, the current seating configuration does not permit for the arched TCU on the bench backs. |
| David (Fort Worth): Is there any time frame for when baseball season tickets for first-time folks will be available? |
Chris Del Conte: The renewal deadline has come and gone, and we're very proud of our 95 percent renewal rate. We're now in the process of contacting those on the wait list. After that is completed and if seats remain available, they'll be opened to the general public. |
| GP (Dallas): Under the new 4-year scholarship guarantee, are there qualifiers for academic and sport performance? For instance, if a kid is dismissed (for academics or team rule violations) from the team, how is the scholarship impacted and does the player count against the 85? |
Chris Del Conte: Good question. We're currently in the process of determining how multi-year grant-in-aids will be implemented. We should have that finalized in the coming weeks. |
| Randy (Coppell): What are the plans, if any, for a Spring football game this year? |
Chris Del Conte: We are working with Coach Patterson to finalize his spring schedule. We anticipate having an open spring practice/game near the conclusion of spring ball. Once we have the date determined, we will let you know. |
| Dustin (Fort Worth): How's the Daniel-Meyer renovation coming along? Are there any plans to setup a webcam like there was for the construction of Amon G Carter? |
Chris Del Conte: The renovation is coming along great. Please see above for the webcam question. |
| Rodrick (Coppell): What's the next big challenge that you plan to take on that will have a big impact on TCU athletics? |
Chris Del Conte: Once we complete our basketball and baseball facility projects, our next big challenge is to stay relevant and competitive on the national stage. With your support, the future looks great. |
TCU Moderator: That concludes today's chat with Chris Del Conte. Thanks for joining us. |
