
Horned Frogs Welcome Missouri

FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 45 TCU women's tennis team will open its home competition and dual spring season by welcoming Missouri on Sunday, January 18 at 10 a.m., at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The Horned Frogs (0-0) and the Tigers (0-0) will start competition at 10 a.m., on the Bernard J. 'Tut' Bartzen Varsity Courts. Admission to the match is free, with free donuts and coffee being served to fans during the match. Those in attendance can also enjoy free pizza served in between the doubles and singles matches courtesy of Buffalo Bros.
TCU Noteables
The Horned Frogs begin their first season under the helm of new head coach Lee Taylor Walker on Sunday. TCU has started the season by earning a team ranking of No. 45 in the opening ITA poll and were one of eight Big 12 teams ranked in the 75-team poll, and were one of six teams to earn a spot in the top 50.
Seda Arantekin and Stefanie Tan earned the team's highest regional ranking of No. 2 in the doubles poll. The pair finished runner-up at the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championships in the fall and posted a 5-2 record. Freshmen Palina Dubavets and Alexis Pereira also grabbed a spot in the regional doubles poll and check in at No. 9.
Pereira earned the team's highest regional singles ranking at No. 10 after making the semifinals at the Texas Regional in the fall and recording a 4-1 record against nationally ranked opponents. Tan comes in next at No. 11 in the singles poll, while fellow senior Simona Parajova rounds out the regionally ranked players at No. 15.
Scouting the Tigers
Missouri is under the direction of fourth-year head coach Sash Schmid, as the Tigers racked up over 50 wins and 10 event championships during the fall campaign. Freshman Brianna Lashway had a great start to her collegiate career and collected four titles in her first fall. Lashaway also teamed up with senior Alex Clark to win two doubles titles, with Clark also totaling seven wins in singles. Brittany Lashaway and Bea Machado Santos each tallied two event wins, while Kelli Hine rounded out the event titles with two wins of her own.
All-Time Series
This will be the first meeting all-time between TCU and Missouri and the first match played between the two teams in Fort Worth in program history.
