Team Notes
TCU has opened the season with a 3-0 record for the seventh time in the last 12 years.

The Horned Frogs improved to 90-3 under Patterson when allowing 17 points or less.
The Horned Frogs won for the 10th time in their last 11 games following an open date
TCU has opened each game this season with a lead of at least 24-0.
With Trevone Boykin's 27-yard scoring run on TCU's second snap of the game, the Horned Frogs have had a touchdown drive on their opening possession in all three games this season.
Patterson improved to 11-2 as a head coach versus SMU.
The Horned Frogs are now 7-2 in 11 a.m. games over the last three seasons.
TCU has had a receiver with two touchdown catches in all three games this season (Kolby Listenbee, Samford; Josh Doctson, Minnesota; Deante' Gray, SMU).
TCU scored for the 270th consecutive game. It's the nation's second-longest current streak and seventh all-time in NCAA history. The Horned Frogs haven't been blanked since Nov. 16, 1991 at Texas (32-0).
TCU's nine sacks tied for the fourth-most in a game under Patterson and represent the highest total since Oct. 30, 2002 versus Southern Miss. Nine Horned Frogs took part in a sack today.
TCU has limited its first three opponents to a combined 656 yards of total offense (218.7 per game), marking the fewest allowed through the opening three games since the 2008 squad held the opposition to just 522 combined yards (174.0 ypg).
The Horned Frogs' 614 yards of offense was the eighth-best total in school history and the most since recording 617 on Nov. 5, 2011 at Wyoming.
TCU's 31 first downs tied for eighth-most in a game in school history.
In two of the opening three games this season, TCU has had first-down totals that are in the top eight in school history. The 33 against Samford in the season opener tied for fourth.
TCU's team captains were Boykin, Sam Carter, Joey Hunt and Davion Pierson.
TCU wore its traditional all-white road uniform with a purple helmet.
Individual Notes
Deante' Gray had career highs with his team-best totals of six receptions, 96 yards and two touchdowns. The receiving scores, 28 yards in the second quarter and 7 yards in the third quarter, were the first of his career.
Gray's 96 receiving yards are the most by a Horned Frog in a game this season.
B.J. Catalon had his first career 100-yard rushing game with 114 yards on 19 carries. It was the first 100-yard game by a Horned Frog since Trevone Boykin ran for 101 yards at Texas Tech last season.
Catalon's 9-yard second quarter touchdown carry was his third scoring run of the season and ninth of his career.
Boykin totaled 342 yards of offense and six touchdowns. He completed 23-of-36 passes for 280 yards while adding 62 yards rushing on seven carries.
Boykin had his third career game of four touchdown passes. He also threw for four scores in back-to-back games versus Baylor and Texas Tech in 2012, becoming the only player in TCU history with consecutive games of four touchdown passes.
Boykin's first-half scoring runs of 27 and 9 yards gave him three rushing touchdowns on the season. The first-quarter 27-yard carry came on TCU's second offensive play of the game. His 13 career scoring runs top all current Horned Frogs.
Boykin has thrown for at least 250 yards in each of the first three games this season. It's his first time achieving the feat in three-straight games since the 2012 campaign (Oct. 6-20).
Josh Doctson tallied his third touchdown reception of the season on a 6-yard pass from Boykin in the third quarter. Doctson now has 12 scoring grabs in his career.
True freshman Desmon White scored his first career touchdown on a 10-yard third-quarter reception from Boykin.
Charlie Reid had his first-career touchdown catch on a 25-yard strike from Matt Joeckel.
Aaron Green had a career-long 41-yard carry in the fourth quarter.
James McFarland had a career-high three sacks while also forcing two fumbles. His pass breakup on a 4th-and-1 for SMU at the TCU 1 in the second quarter preserved the Horned Frogs' shutout.
Paul Dawson had a fumble recovery for the third straight game.
Marcus Mallet tied Kenny Iloka for the TCU lead with eight tackles. Mallet is now even with Paul Dawson for the team lead this season with 26 stops.
Jonathan Anderson, making his first start of the season, had six tackles.
True freshman Nick Orr recorded his first career interception.
Cameron Echols-Luper had a season-long 47-yard punt return in the third quarter. It was just shy of his career-best of 51 yards in last year's SMU game.
Jaden Oberkrom made all eight of his extra-point attempts, extending his school record streak to 96 in a row. The streak ranks third nationally among current players. He is 96-of-96 in his career.
