FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's basketball program recently accepted four "Chillin4Charity" Cold Water Challenges in an effort to help raise donations for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
The movement was originally started by Arizona head women's basketball coach Niya Butts, and went viral as the entire TCU coaching staff and several student-athletes were challenged on four separate occasions.
When a coach is challenged and they accept, the coach that issued the challenge will owe $50 to the fund. If a coach didn't accept the challenge, they would owe $250. For student-athletes who didn't accept the challenge, they would owe five hours of community service, and if they did, the challenger would have to complete two hours of service.
The Horned Frogs brought in several prominent TCU figures to help with the challenges, including head football coach Gary Patterson, head men's basketball coach Trent Johnson and football great LaDainian Tomlinson, while also bringing in TCU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Chris Del Conte on the final challenge.
